Industrial Land Base

Published By: City of Surry,

As land value increase over time, areas zoned for industrial use face pressure from commercial and residential development. Many businesses, such as warehousing and water-borne industries, that are critical components of the Surrey and Metro Vancouver economies require industrial land. Maintaining an industrial land base supports these businesses and jobs. It also generates generates revenue for the City and contributes to a more diversified tax base. The industrial land base is a measure of how well the city is doing in maintaining its industrial land base.
