Trees Planted

Trees provide many benefits. They filter air pollution and water contaminants, improving air and water quality. They prevent soil erosion and create shade for pedestrians and cyclists. Trees provide important habitat for urban wildlife, increasing local biodiversity. The ratio of trees proposed to be planted to removed trees is a measure of how well the city is doing to reduce the impact of its infrastructure on the natural environment.
