Density on Transit Corridors

Locating residential and commercial developments adjacent to transit corridors helps to increase transit ridership and support better transit service. Transit-oriented developments tend to be mixed-use, with shops, schools, and other public services conveniently located close together. Compact communities help protect green spaces and farm land by easing development pressure. Population and employment density on transit corridors is a measure of how compact and complete Surrey's communities are, and the City aims to see increases in density over time.
